Certificates to Be Presented to Proportional MPs on Chaitra 5; Election Report to Be Submitted to President Same Day

March 17, Kathmandu – Certificates will be presented on Thursday to the 110 Members of Parliament elected through the proportional representation system in the House of Representatives election held on February 33.

Assistant Spokesperson of the Election Commission, Kulbahadur Jisi, stated that preparations are underway to distribute the certificates of election to the proportional MPs on Thursday.

The Commission had published the list of 110 proportional representation MPs on Monday. According to the published details, the National Independent Party (Rastriya Swatantra Party – RASWA) secured 57 seats, Nepali Congress 20, CPN-UML 16, Nepali Communist Party 9, and both Labour Culture Party and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) won four seats each.

After presenting the certificates to the MPs on Thursday, the comprehensive report on the results of the House of Representatives election 2082 along with the election outcomes will be submitted to President Ram Chandra Poudel, Assistant Spokesperson Jisi informed.

Once the comprehensive report including the election results is submitted to the President, the path will open to call for government formation as per Article 76 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2072. – RSS
