In the match held Tuesday at the Dashrath Rangashala Covered Hall in Tripureshwor, Times defeated Solo Basketball Club by a margin of 88-75.
Times established an early lead, taking the first quarter 23-12 and the second quarter 24-16, dominating the halftime score at 47-28.
Although Solo attempted a comeback, they were unsuccessful. Solo led the third quarter 23-20 and the fourth 24-21 but could not avoid defeat.
Times captain Sadish Pradhan was declared Man of the Match after scoring a game-high 22 points.
With three wins and one loss in four games, Times accumulated 7 points, moving up to second place. The departmental team Tribhuvan Army occupies the top position on equal points.
The Army secured their third victory Monday night by defeating Kirtipur 92-78.
The Army posted respective quarter scores of 31-23, 28-10, 22-19, and 11-26. Nischal Maharjan led the team with an impressive 22-point performance.
Organized by the Nepal Basketball Association (NEBA), the second edition of the HJNBL features eight competing teams.
The league follows a double round-robin format with a total of 56 games. After the league stage, the top four teams advance to the playoffs. The first and second place teams will face off in the first qualifier, while the third and fourth place teams contest the eliminator match. The loser of the first qualifier and the winner of the eliminator then play in the second qualifier. The final showdown features the winners of the first and second qualifiers.
