The Election Commission submitted the election report of the House of Representatives members to the President’s Office on Thursday. Subsequently, the President’s Office is preparing to call the Federal Parliament session.

On Thursday, the Federal Parliament Secretariat held discussions with representatives of the parties represented in the House of Representatives. The discussions focused on the oath-taking ceremony for members and the proceedings of the parliamentary sessions.

Following the discussions, it was decided that the newly elected members will take their oath on Chaith 12. On that day at 11:30 AM, the senior-most member will take the oath with the President, and at 2 PM, the senior-most member will administer the oath to the other members.

After this, the government formation process will move forward, with related activities scheduled for Chaith 13, 14, and 15.

The first session of the House of Representatives is planned to be convened on Chaith 16. This was also communicated during the all-party meeting.

Ekram Giri, Joint Secretary and spokesperson of the Parliament Secretariat, confirmed that the parliamentary session will be called after the oath-taking ceremony.

Ramesh Mall, Member of Parliament from the Communist Party of Nepal, also shared that a briefing was provided regarding government formation following the oath ceremony and the subsequent calling of the parliamentary session.

“Discussions were held about convening the first meeting on the 16th. The Secretariat has been preparing accordingly to hold the session on that day,” Mall stated.

During the all-party meeting on Thursday, there was also discussion about the agenda for the first parliamentary meeting.

The agenda is expected to include reading out the letter calling the session from the President, reading important letters sent by the government, and allotting time for greetings by party leaders who wish to address the house.
