Agency report: Russian President Vladimir Putin has extended his warm greetings to Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on the occasion of the Nowruz festival.

In a message delivered on Saturday, Putin emphasized that the strategic partnership between Moscow and Dushanbe serves as a backbone for security and stability across Central Asia.

The message, released on Saturday by the Tajik presidential press service, conveyed Putin’s confidence that the friendly relations between the two nations address the fundamental interests of both countries.

President Putin extended his best wishes for the prosperity and well-being of all the people of Tajikistan and wished President Rahmon good health and continued success.

Earlier, in October 2025, during a state visit to Tajikistan, Putin signed 16 new cooperation agreements between the two countries.

Tajikistan’s Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin affirmed that the alliance with Russia remains at the highest level.

Particularly amid increasing security challenges in Central Asia, the close ties between Russia and Tajikistan are considered strategically vital.
