
Flood in Roshi River Claims One Life, BP Highway Blocked
March 28, Kavrepalanchok – Continuous heavy rainfall has caused flooding in the Roshi River, resulting in the death of one person.
Jwala Vaibal, Vice Chairperson of Roshi Rural Municipality, confirmed the death of a laborer working on the BP Highway.
According to her, Kunsang Tamang, a permanent resident of Roshi-7 who was working on the BP Highway, was swept away and killed by the floodwaters of the Roshi River.
Due to the annual heavy rains, the BP Highway has been completely blocked. Since 6 PM Friday evening, the highway sections falling under Kavre district, including Roshi-7 Ghumaunedanda, Roshi-9 Biruwadanda, Roshi-11 Kaladhunga, and Namobuddha Municipality-6 Chaukidanda, have been closed, district police chief SP Komal Shah reported.
Authorities are currently working to clear the road, and the police have urged everyone to check road conditions before traveling.
