Nepal Airlines to Operate Special Flights to Dubai and Dammam for Three Days

Nepal Airlines Corporation will operate special evacuation flights to West Asia from April 3 to 5. This initiative follows directives from Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal amid ongoing regional tensions. Regular flights to West Asia have been suspended since February 28, and the National Insurance Company is providing insurance support for the special operations.

The corporation has planned special flights over three days starting this Friday, April 3. These flights aim to facilitate the safe return and movement of Nepali citizens stranded in West Asia. Scheduled flights include Kathmandu–Dubai on April 3, Dubai–Kathmandu on April 4, and Kathmandu–Dammam and Dammam–Kathmandu on April 5.

The government has stated that the special flights will assist Nepalese unable to reach their destinations due to travel restrictions in the region, ensuring their safe repatriation or onward travel. On March 30 (Chaitra 17), a high-level meeting chaired by Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal was held, involving officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, and Nepal Airlines Corporation.

The meeting focused on measures to facilitate the rescue and movement of Nepalese citizens in West Asia and discussed the necessary air service operations. Acting on the Foreign Minister’s instructions, Nepal Airlines is set to commence these special flights. Due to ongoing instability in West Asia, regular flights have been suspended since February 28. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has noted that the National Insurance Company has aided in arranging the required insurance coverage for these special flights.
