Simant Gurung Wins Double Gold at NCTC-ICS Unity Games

Nepali veteran tennis player Simant Gurung secured double gold medals at the NCTC-ICS Unity Games held in Melbourne. At the competition in Melbourne, Australia, Simant triumphed in both the men’s veterans singles and doubles categories for players over 35 years of age. In the singles final, Simant defeated Anup Gurung. For the doubles title, he teamed up with Ashok Gurung to overcome the pair of Anup Gurung and Kumar Khatri. (24 Chaitra, Kathmandu)

In the Intermediate Singles category, Dipesh Ghimire defeated Bhishma Gautam to claim the championship. The winners were honored in a ceremony by NCTC Chairman Keshav Khatri and others. Chairman Khatri noted that the tournament was organized to strengthen unity and cohesion within the Nepali tennis community. Bhishma Gautam, secretary of the organizing club, expressed confidence that the event would send a new message of unity and excellence to the Nepali sports community and outlined plans to organize larger competitions in the future.
