US Vice President J.D. Bhans Participates in Peace Talks in Pakistan

Chaitra 28, Kathmandu – Following an agreement to initiate peace talks between the United States and Iran, the ongoing conflict in West Asia has temporarily paused. After a Pakistan-mediated agreement, negotiators from both countries gathered today to participate in peace talks in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. A delegation led by US Vice President J.D. Bhans arrived in Islamabad on the same day. Vice President Bhans is heading the negotiation team, having been entrusted with this responsibility by President Donald Trump.

His aircraft, ‘Air Force Two,’ landed at Islamabad Airport a few hours ago. Supporting Vice President Bhans are Trump’s special envoy Steve Whitcraft and his son-in-law Jared Kushner, both accompanying him. The US delegation was welcomed at the airport by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, along with Pakistan’s Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir. On the Iranian side, the talks will be led by the Speaker of the Parliament, Muhammad Bagher Ghalibaf, who also arrived in Pakistan. Below are images of J.D. Bhans’s arrival in Islamabad: AFP
