April 6, Kathmandu – Nepal’s leading spin bowler Sandeep Lamichhane has made a remarkable jump of 15 positions in the ICC One Day International (ODI) bowling rankings.
According to statistics published by ICC on Wednesday, based on data up to Tuesday, Sandeep moved up from 58th to 43rd place. His rating score now stands at 488 points.
He showcased excellent form in the League 2 series held at home, taking 8 wickets across four matches while maintaining economical bowling figures.
In the first game against the UAE, Sandeep bowled 10 overs conceding only 25 runs and took 2 wickets. Against Oman in the first match, he again bowled 10 overs giving away only 24 runs and claimed 2 wickets.
In the second match against UAE, he took 3 wickets while conceding 36 runs in 8 overs, and against Oman in the second game, he gave 30 runs in 8.5 overs with 1 wicket.
Meanwhile, other Nepali bowlers saw a decline in their rankings. Lalit Lamichhane dropped 4 places to 65th, and Karan KC slipped 5 places to 90th.
