April 27, Beirut – Israeli drone and aerial attacks near Beirut and in southern Lebanon have resulted in at least 17 deaths. Among the deceased is a 12-year-old girl.

According to local media and the Ministry of Health, three drone strikes targeted vehicles in the southern Beirut area on Saturday, killing four people. Additional airstrikes in various parts of southern Lebanon claimed 13 more lives.

Although a ceasefire was declared on April 17 between Israel and Hezbollah, attacks from both sides have continued daily, indicating sustained tensions despite the truce.

On Wednesday night, the Israeli Air Force conducted an attack on a southern suburb of Beirut, claiming to have killed a senior Hezbollah military commander, marking the first assault close to the capital since the ceasefire.

The two strikes on Saturday occurred along the highway connecting Beirut to the southern port city of Sidon, where several individuals were injured. Another attack took place on the road leading to Lebanon’s Chouf region, resulting in three fatalities.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that an airstrike in the southern village of Saksakiyeh killed at least seven people and wounded 15 others.

Meanwhile, attacks were also reported in the southern Lebanese areas of Burj Rahal and Mayfadoun, with further casualties noted in media reports. (RASS/ Xinhua)
