
Two Bodies Found in Sarlahi’s Bagmati River, Three Others Found Safe
Out of five individuals who went missing in Sarlahi’s Bagmati River, the bodies of two young men have been recovered, while three others are reported safe, according to police. The deceased are 18-year-old Rohit Mahato and 20-year-old Ganesh Mahato, both residents of Lalbandi Municipality-9. Sahmad Momin, Mohammad Akhtar from Barahathwa, and Shyam Bhandari from Brahmpuri, who went missing while crossing the river, have been found safe.
May 23, Kathmandu – Two bodies have been recovered out of five people who went missing in the Bagmati River in Sarlahi, while the remaining three were found unharmed. The five went missing near the Jhapadi suspension bridge located close to the Rautahat-Sindhuli border around 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. The Area Police Office, Karmaiya, Sarlahi, confirmed the recovery of two bodies.
The deceased are identified as 18-year-old Rohit Mahato and 20-year-old Ganesh Mahato, both from Bastipur, Lalbandi Municipality-9. According to police, Rohit’s body was found Sunday near a bridge in Bagmati Municipality-11, Sarlahi, while Ganesh’s body was discovered around 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Bagmati River dam site. Meanwhile, 28-year-old Sahmad Momin and 24-year-old Mohammad Akhtar from Barahathwa Municipality-5, along with 20-year-old Shyam Bhandari from Brahmpuri Rural Municipality-3, were found safe. The trio had reached the Jhapasi Suspension Bridge on the Bagmati River near the Rautahat-Sindhuli border without informing anyone and went missing while attempting to cross the river, police said.
