
Six Workers Die as Under-Construction Bridge Collapses in Uttar Pradesh
Six workers lost their lives when an under-construction bridge collapsed in Hamirpur district of Uttar Pradesh, India. The incident occurred on Thursday night while construction was underway. Among the deceased, two were residents of Hamirpur district, and four were from Banda district.
Three injured workers have been rescued and admitted to hospital for treatment. Following the accident, concerns have been raised about the quality of the bridge construction and safety standards. Officials from the district administration and the Public Works Department have inspected the site and ordered an investigation into the incident.
On Thursday night, several areas of Uttar Pradesh experienced severe storms, rain, and lightning. The meteorological department had issued warnings in advance, urging caution due to the adverse weather conditions.
