President Emphasizes the State’s Role in Instilling Confidence in Sports as a Future Path

May 3, Kathmandu – President Ram Chandra Paudel stated that sports play a vital role in strengthening mutual friendship, brotherhood, and relations, thereby deepening the sense of national unity. He emphasized that sports also significantly contribute to expanding international relations.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the 16th President’s Running Shield Competition organized by the National Sports Council on Wednesday, President Paudel highlighted that in today’s era, sports serve not only as a platform for competition, profession, fame, and recognition but also as a powerful means for an individual’s holistic development.

“Sports cultivate discipline, cooperation, leadership, self-confidence, and form the foundation of national unity,” he said.

President Paudel pointed out the growing enthusiasm for sports in Nepal and stressed the need for the state to instill the feeling that “my future is secure” through sports competitions in these times.

“Starting from the school level, there should be no hesitation in continuously organizing such competitions at federal, provincial, and local levels, linking sports with education to foster and expand sports culture,” he added.
