
Historic Agreement Between Marriott International and CG Hospitality to Develop Two Ultra-Luxury Hotels in Nepal
CG Hospitality Global and Marriott International have signed a historic agreement to operate two ultra-luxury hotels in Nepal. A 1.5 billion NPR investment will go into constructing ‘The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu’ in Thamel, Kathmandu, which is scheduled to open by 2029. According to the agreement, a 150-room ‘The Westin Kathmandu’ hotel will also be operated near Tribhuvan International Airport.
Kathmandu, 7 June — International hotel chain Marriott has finalized a landmark agreement with CG Hospitality Global to operate two ultra-luxury hotels in Nepal. The signing ceremony, attended by Marriott International Board Chairman David Marriott and CG Hospitality Global Chairman Binod Chaudhary, also included plans to operate a hotel in Siliguri, India.
Chairman Chaudhary stated, “This agreement signals that Nepal’s hospitality industry is ready to ascend to a new level.” The groundbreaking ceremony for The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu was completed in March. This hotel will be located in the tourist hub of Thamel and will include 150 ultra-luxury rooms, branded residences, a commercial complex, and a casino.
CG Hospitality and its partners have expressed their commitment to supporting the new government’s confidence in the private sector and investment promotion through this project.
