
Nepali Congress Reports 417,753 Membership Updates; Requests Central Office Notification of Any Disruptions
25 Jestha, Kathmandu – The Nepali Congress announced that as of 5 PM on Monday, 417,753 members have updated their memberships digitally. Additionally, they claim that another 98,143 individuals have submitted membership update forms. This information was disclosed in a statement issued Monday evening by Krishna Prasad Dulal, the Acting General Secretary of the Congress Central Office.
The statement notes that there are 782,209 active members eligible for updates. The Central Committee on Membership Management recently held a meeting resulting in 10 decisions related to membership updates and new memberships; 8 decisions concerning updates and 2 regarding new enrollments. The meeting, chaired by General Secretary Pradeep Paudel, was attended by President Gagan Thapa, Vice President Bishwaprakash Sharma, and co-General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire, as indicated in the statement.
According to the announcement, the final date for membership updates is set for Jestha 28. Since the 15th General Convention will be entirely technology-based, updating the membership of all active members is mandatory. The party has urged members to directly contact the Central Office if any level of obstruction occurs during the membership update process. Furthermore, the statement declares that individuals disciplined by the disciplinary committee, those who have left Congress for other parties, candidates who rebelled against official candidates, and their supporters and proposers will be removed from the membership records. Party-affiliated committees and bodies have also been instructed to carry out membership updates.
