Action Command Center Established at Ministry of Labor to Address Workers’ Complaints Promptly

The Ministry of Youth, Labor, and Employment has established an ‘Action Command Center’ to promptly address complaints and fraud-related grievances of workers. Under the direction of Minister Ramji Yadav, the center is operated by five staff members led by Undersecretary Upendra Raj Paudel. Despite accusations from manpower agencies of being harassed, the ministry has stated that the center’s purpose is to deliver immediate justice to workers. Kathmandu, 26th Jestha.

The Ministry of Youth, Labor, and Employment has launched the Action Command Center (ACC) to provide immediate solutions to workers’ complaints. Following Minister Ramji Yadav’s directives, ministry employees were assigned to operate the center to swiftly resolve grievances, complaints, and issues. The center specifically addresses fraud complaints related to foreign employment as well as grievances arising within the domestic labor sector, according to the ministry.

Led by Undersecretary Upendra Raj Paudel, the designated staff are responsible for promptly handling daily complaints, rescue operations, and fraud cases. According to Paudel, the complaints and grievances received daily are immediately forwarded to the relevant agencies for resolution. The ministry has also provided complaint submission facilities via WhatsApp and phone at the number 9768565768.

The center forwards these complaints and grievances to relevant departments such as the Foreign Employment Department and the Department of Labor and Occupational Safety without delay. However, after the center’s establishment, manpower agencies have expressed opposition. They allege being unnecessarily inconvenienced as officials call them immediately upon receiving complaints to discuss the issues. The ministry’s secretariat clarified that the center was established precisely to expedite resolution of grievances received both from affected workers visiting the ministry and via the call center.

Minister Yadav’s personal Undersecretary, Saroj Yadav, stated that the center was created not to trouble agencies but to provide swift justice for workers. “There are rumors that we are harassing agency representatives by summoning them unnecessarily, but our actual objective is to provide immediate justice to the aggrieved workers by calling agencies to the ministry and resolving issues amicably,” he explained.
