In the National Assembly meeting on Thursday, MP Pant advised the government not to claim exclusive political legitimacy based solely on election votes. She emphasized the necessity for clarity on the Prime Minister’s comments related to border matters.

Additionally, she called on both the ruling and opposition parties to advance the nation through mutual cooperation, unity, and agreement. Pant highlighted that the assembly is prepared to fulfill its constitutional and political responsibilities and stressed that the government must act responsibly. She stated, ‘The National Assembly has a distinct responsibility, and we are ready to fulfill it. However, the demand directed to the Prime Minister cannot be withdrawn. Politics cannot be controlled by election outcomes alone. Criticism is easy, but fulfilling responsibilities is challenging. Historically, many parties have secured large vote counts, but there is no need to use votes as a reason for arrogance. When given the microphone, not everything should be said — it can complicate governance. A country like Nepal must progress based on cooperation, unity, and consensus.’

She also expressed that opposition parties are willing to support constructive government initiatives and advised there is no need to be fearful.
