Madhesh Province Revises ‘Educate Daughters, Save Daughters’ Program

June 15, Janakpur Dham – The Madhesh Province government has revised the ‘Chief Minister’s Educate Daughters, Save Daughters Program’ and transformed it into the ‘Chief Minister’s Women Self-Employment Program.’ While presenting the budget for the fiscal year 2083/84, Finance Minister Yubaraj Bhattarai announced that the program will be implemented in the future with the slogan, ‘Educated daughters, safe Madhesh! Entrepreneurial women, prosperous Madhesh!’

The first government of Madhesh Province had initially launched the ‘Chief Minister’s Educate Daughters, Save Daughters Program.’ It quickly became one of the most widely recognized and popular initiatives in the province. The program included initiatives such as bicycle distribution, daughter insurance, and civil service preparation classes, which gained national attention. The previous provincial government considered it a flagship program and advanced it with pride. However, following irregularities uncovered in the bicycle procurement process and allegations involving then-Chief Minister Lalbabu Raut, the program’s reputation suffered, and the ‘Chief Minister’s Educate Daughters, Save Daughters Program’ was left stalled.
