13 Arrested for Involvement in Drug Trafficking in Koshi Province
Thirteen individuals were arrested on Sunday across five districts of Koshi Province on charges of involvement in drug trafficking. Authorities confiscated brown sugar, banned substances, cannabis, and four two-wheeler vehicles from the suspects. The arrested individuals have been taken into custody for further investigation and legal proceedings related to drug offenses. (July 22, Sunsari)
The detainees include 31-year-old Bibek Rajbanshi, 28-year-old Regan Rajbanshi, and 31-year-old Sanjay Kumar Rajbanshi from Gauradaha Municipality-2, Jhapa; along with 35-year-old Rajkumar Kamati and his wife Manika Kamati from Birtamod-9. Additionally, 29-year-old Darshan Rai from Dhankuta Municipality-7, 28-year-old Namunesh Bhujel from Dhankuta-10, 23-year-old Ayush Rai from Shahidbhumi Rural Municipality-2, and 30-year-old Narbahadur Pulami Magar from Udaypurgadhi Rural Municipality-6 were also apprehended.
Further arrests include 27-year-old Samir Rai from Kanepokhari-7, Morang; 25-year-old Sohrab Alam from Biratnagar Metropolitan City-17; 24-year-old Myong Limbu from Dharan-11, Sunsari; and 20-year-old Emil Rai from Dharan-15. Authorities recovered brown sugar, prohibited drugs, cannabis, and four two-wheeler vehicles from those arrested on Sunday. Koshi Province Police have confirmed that all detainees are currently held for ongoing drug-related investigations and prosecution.
