Formal Meeting Held Between Trump and NATO Secretary General Rutte

June 11, Kathmandu — A formal meeting took place on Wednesday at the White House between U.S. President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. During the meeting, Rutte presented his perspective on issues related to Iran. According to Rutte, the steps taken by President Trump regarding Iran are significant. He stated, “The foremost concern is Iran’s nearing achievement of nuclear capability, which could pose a major threat to the entire world.”

Rutte added that Iran has come very close to acquiring nuclear capabilities. “All G7 leaders have lauded the substantial weakening of that potential,” he informed.

Although President Trump expressed dissatisfaction over some minor incidents during the meeting, he emphasized that European allies stand firmly with the United States overall. However, the U.S. President also voiced disappointment regarding the behavior of the European partners, remarking, “If someone else were in my position, this meeting with you would not have happened today. It would have been better if they had said, ‘We want to cooperate.’”
