Prison Escapee Arrested in Kathmandu Valley

Aftab Alam, serving a prison sentence on fraud charges, was arrested by police from Budhanilkantha. The 31-year-old from Parsa was apprehended by a team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office after escaping from prison. Alam has been sent to Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur for further legal procedures.

June 30, Kathmandu – A prisoner who had escaped from jail has been captured. The individual, 31-year-old Aftab Alam from Ward 21, Birgunj Metropolitan City, Parsa, was taken into custody by a unit of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office. Alam was convicted in a fraud case and escaped during the Janajati Movement. After being arrested in Budhanilkantha, he was transferred to Nakkhu Prison in Lalitpur.
