Three Nepali Usui Judges Including Juni Rai Complete International Certification Course in China

June 21, Kathmandu – Juni Rai, the gold medalist of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG), along with two other Nepali Usui judges, successfully completed an international Usui judge training and certification course held in China. Rai, Manjur Maharjan, and Dilip Lama participated in the week-long training program conducted from June 28 to July 4 in Haikou, Hainan Province. The training was jointly organized by the International Usui Federation, the Olympic Council of Asia, and the Asian Usui Federation, with 166 judges from 39 Asian countries attending the event.

The main objective of the training was to standardize the international Usui judging system and enhance the theoretical knowledge and professional skills of the judges. Rai, who is also the coach of Nepal Police Club’s Usui team, stated that the training provided her with in-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of modern Usui as well as the new rules implemented in international competitions. “It was an opportunity to gain detailed information about the recent rule changes and new technologies applied in international Usui,” Rai said.

She expressed confidence that this training would significantly contribute to Nepal’s preparations for upcoming Asian Games. “It was a very fruitful training session. Understanding the important changes in the rules will greatly assist in preparing the team more effectively for the forthcoming Asian Games,” she added.
