Australia Wins Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup for the Seventh Time

June 21, Kathmandu – Australia has claimed the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup title. In the final match held on Sunday night, Australia defeated England by 6 wickets, securing the championship for the seventh time. Chasing a target of 151 runs set by England, Australia achieved the total with 17 balls remaining, losing 4 wickets. Beth Mooney scored 64 runs, while Phoebe Litchfield added 48 runs. For England, Charlotte Dean, Lauren Bell, and Sophie Ecclestone each took one wicket.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, England scored 150 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Captain Nat Sciver-Brunt remained unbeaten on 58, while Freya Kemp also remained not out with 44 runs. For Australia, Kim Garth, Lucy Hamilton, captain Sophie Molineux, and Annabel Sutherland each took one wicket. Australia remained unbeaten throughout the tournament to become champions. They won all five group stage matches and defeated the West Indies in the semifinals.
