
Nyatham Indoor Cricket Championship 2026 to Be Held in Kathmandu
Nepal Academy of Tourism, Hotel and Mountaineering has announced that the Nyatham Indoor Cricket Championship 2026 will take place in Kathmandu from September 24 to 26. The tournament will feature 16 college teams at the undergraduate level. The winning team will receive a cash prize of NPR 80,000, while the runner-up will receive NPR 40,000, according to the organizers. Technical Director Rabindra Gupta expressed confidence that the competition will not only identify new talent but also positively contribute to the future of Nepali cricket.
The championship will be held at the Velocity Cricket Arena in Kathmandu. Matches will be conducted in a group stage format followed by knockout rounds. The primary goal of the event is to provide a competitive platform for college-level cricket players while fostering cooperation and stronger relationships among colleges, as clarified by the organizers.
Teams registering for the tournament will be given priority. With only 16 teams allowed to participate, interested colleges are urged to register promptly. Rabindra Gupta highlighted that the tournament is regarded as an important stage for developing discipline, sportsmanship, leadership skills, and team spirit. To enhance the event’s appeal, live broadcasts, food stalls, and entertainment programs will also be organized.
