Hamas Agrees to Disarm Under Deal Brokered by ‘Board of Peace’

15 Shrawan, Kathmandu — US President Donald Trump announced that his ‘Board of Peace’ has reached an agreement with Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza. According to the deal, they will lay down their weapons. A senior Hamas official told the BBC that the organization has agreed to the proposal by the ‘Board of Peace’ for complete disarmament in Gaza. He stated, “An official statement on this matter will be released soon.”

There has been no response yet from either Egypt or Israel regarding the agreement. Trump indicated that as the disarmament process advances, the Israeli military will withdraw from Gaza. He described the agreement as a crucial step towards establishing a new Palestinian government in Gaza. The second phase of the Gaza ceasefire plan mediated by the United States includes Hamas’ willingness to disarm. This phase also involves plans for the reconstruction of Gaza.
