Tangle of Fiber-Optic Cables Left by Russian Drones in Ukrainian Forest

On July 31, Ukraine’s 57th Motorized Brigade released a video showing a forest in the Kharkiv region covered with fiber-optic cables left behind by Russian drones. According to the brigade, the footage was recorded in a forest near Bohvchansk.

Enemy forces have increasingly deployed drones equipped with fiber-optic cables, which are difficult to detect and jam on the battlefield. When these drones fly, they leave behind long cables extending for several kilometers.
