Initiative to Develop Religious Library: Campaign Launched to Collect Ancient Religious Texts

The Sanskrit Veda School, located at Goraksheshwar Divyadham in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-10, is set to run a campaign to collect ancient religious scriptures for its library. Established in 1999 BS (2056 BS), the school is currently preparing to better organize its existing collection and acquire more ancient religious texts, said Ram Krishna Thapa, chairman of the school management committee.

The library currently houses around 250 books, and Thapa appealed to the public to contribute any ancient religious scriptures they might possess. He stated, “To organize the library, the Ministry of Tourism of Bagmati Province provided two hundred thousand rupees in the fiscal year 2081/082.” He added, “Our goal is to develop this library as a center for study and research through the collection of ancient religious scriptures.” Furthermore, he urged, “If anyone has ancient religious texts preserved at home, we request them to kindly support the library by making these available.”

The books in the library will prove valuable to students and researchers and will be preserved for decades to come. The school currently educates nearly 50 young students from various districts across the country and offers residential facilities to about 40 students.
