Drought in Indonesia Reveals Village Submerged by Reservoir Once Again
In Indonesia’s Banten province, a village that had been submerged under a reservoir has reemerged as water levels dropped due to months-long drought. The Karian reservoir’s decreasing water level caused the village to resurface. The area has experienced an extended period without rainfall. Currently, the global average temperature is approximately 1.4 degrees Celsius higher compared to the late 19th century.
