Scott Kuggeleijn Set to Play Third Consecutive Season for Sudurpashchim Royals

New Zealand pace bowler Scott Kuggeleijn is set to participate in the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) representing the Sudurpashchim Royals. The Royals announced Kuggeleijn’s re-signing through an official press release. The team’s Chief Executive Officer, Prakash Khadka, expressed confidence that Kuggeleijn will play a crucial role in leading the team to its first championship title.

Kuggeleijn was the joint highest wicket-taker in the inaugural NPL season, taking 17 wickets across 9 matches, and secured 10 wickets in 9 matches during the second edition. For the upcoming tournament starting from Kartik 9, Sudurpashchim Royals have signed Kuggeleijn as their second overseas player. Previously, England’s Saif Zaib was also contracted for the third edition.

Prakash Khadka warmly welcomed Kuggeleijn back to the squad and expressed his expectations: “We are looking forward to another outstanding performance, similar to his contributions in the first and second editions. We firmly believe his role will be decisive in clinching our first title.” Alongside captain Dipendra Singh Airee, the Royals have retained players including Binod Bhandari, Arif Sheikh, Ishan Pandey, Abhinash Bohara, Hemanta Dhami, and Hikmat Mahar. Additional players signed through auction include Deepak Bohara, Milan Bohara, Tek Rawat, Anil Kharel, Sachin Bhatt, and Ayuv Chand.
