Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the United States’ announcement of an ‘Economic D-Day’ against Iran, describing it as a tactic to conceal its own economic troubles. He accused the US of economic terrorism, posing a significant threat to the global economy and national sovereignty. Araghchi explained on the social media platform X that America’s ‘Economic D-Day’ is an attempt to divert attention from its economic problems. He stated, “America will only face defeat and the anger of the Iranian people by repeating failed old policies.” This statement comes amid the US national debt surpassing 40 trillion dollars. According to US Treasury data, as of August 18, the total national debt had reached approximately 40.5 trillion dollars.
