Nepal Falls to NT Strike by 8 Wickets in Opening T20 Clash

Nepal suffered an 8-wicket defeat against NT Strike in the first match of the ongoing Top End T20 series in Australia. Batting first, Nepal scored 122 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs, with Pawan Sarraf top-scoring with 41 runs. NT Strike chased down the target of 123 runs in 15 overs, losing only 2 wickets, powered by an unbeaten 40 from Dotsie Hoganbozam. The match held on Friday at the DX Arena in Darwin saw Nepal’s bowling unable to defend a modest 123-run target as NT Strike completed the chase in 15 overs with the loss of 2 wickets. Dotsie Hoganbozam remained unbeaten on 40 off 37 balls, while Jordan Silk was not out on 42. For Nepal, Pawan Sarraf managed to take 2 wickets.

Having lost the toss and elected to bat first, Nepal posted 122 runs for 8 wickets in their 20 overs. Pawan Sarraf’s 41 runs came off 49 balls, the highest for Nepal in the innings. Lokesh Bam contributed 16 runs, and Narayan Joshi added 15. NT Strike’s Tom Menzies was the most successful bowler, taking 3 wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Sam Barker, William Blayer, and Darcy Shirt took one wicket each. Nepal will now prepare to face a strong Bangladesh team in their second match on Saturday.
