Foreign Ministers of Russia and the Vatican to Hold Talks in Moscow

September 24, Kathmandu – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Vatican Foreign Minister Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher are scheduled to hold talks in Moscow on Tuesday. This marks the first official visit to Russia by a senior Vatican official since the commencement of the special military operation. The Russian Foreign Ministry has stated that the two sides will discuss international issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation. The Ukraine situation is expected to be given special priority during the talks. Additionally, there is a possibility of a separate consultation in the Vatican concerning Ukraine. Ivan Soltanovsky, Russia’s ambassador to the Vatican, told the news agency TASS that Russia is willing to participate in such a consultation process.
