
Iranian Military Claims Attack on US Base in UAE; UAE Responds to Drone Incursion
The Iranian military has claimed responsibility for an attack on the US military base located in Al Minhad, UAE, describing it as a retaliatory strike against a recent American assault on Iranian launchers at Larak Island. Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Defense confirmed that its air force intercepted and took action against a drone that had entered its territorial waters from Iran. The ministry stated that its armed forces remain on high alert with round-the-clock surveillance of the airspace.
On September 1, Kathmandu – The Iranian military has asserted that it carried out an attack targeting American helicopters and military facilities at the US base in Al Minhad, UAE. In response, the UAE Ministry of Defense acknowledged that its air force engaged a drone intruding into their territorial waters from Iran.
According to reports, the Iranian military’s public relations department cited the strike on the Al Minhad base as a countermeasure following a US military attack on two Iranian launchers situated on Larak Island the previous night.
The UAE Ministry of Defense released a statement on social media platform X, confirming the aerial interception of an Iranian UAV (drone) over its territorial waters. ‘The UAE Air Force detected and took action against a UAV originating from Iran within the country’s maritime domain,’ the statement read. However, the ministry did not provide further details on whether the drone was neutralized mid-air or if it successfully reached its intended target.
