
SDPZ ‘A’ Team Wins Title at Women’s Futsal Tournament
The Sign With Purpose and Joy (SDPJ) ‘A’ team clinched the championship at the Nakhipot Folks Women’s Futsal Tournament held on Saturday. In the final match, the SDPJ ‘A’ team decisively defeated their own ‘B’ team with a 3–0 scoreline. The winning goals were scored by team captain Deepa Rai, Vimala Thapa, and Jennifer Rana Magar. Along with the victory, the team received a cash prize of NPR 101,000.
Deepa Rai was awarded the Best Player title, earning a cash prize of NPR 7,500. Regina Magar was honored as the Emerging Player, while Kavita Bik was recognized as the Best Goalkeeper; both received cash prizes of NPR 5,000 each. The award ceremony was attended by national men’s football team captain Kiran Chemjong, businessman Praveen Rai, and Begha Limbu, a member of the organizing committee from Nakhipot Folks.
The tournament featured participation from 21 teams and was conducted over two days under a knockout format. The runner-up team received a cash prize of NPR 51,000.
