Russian Drone Attack on Ukrainian Shopping Mall Kills 5, Injures 67

A Russian drone attack struck a shopping mall in the city of Pavlohrad, Ukraine, resulting in the deaths of five people and injuring 67 others. According to Ukraine’s Interior Minister Ivan Vyhovsky, the attack took place during the daytime, causing significant damage to the mall’s stores and surrounding vehicles. “The attack occurred at a time when there was a dense civilian presence on the street,” he stated.

Ukrainian media report that earlier this week, Russian airstrikes also targeted two other shopping malls located in the cities of Zaporizhzhia and Sumy. Meanwhile, Russia has claimed that Ukraine conducted a marine drone attack on its resort city of Sochi during the night on Wednesday.

Russian officials reported that 28 people were injured in that attack, and Russia also claims that three additional casualties resulted from other Ukrainian attacks. More than four years have passed since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the invasion of Ukraine, and the conflict between the two countries continues. Meanwhile, a new peace initiative started by envoys of former US President Donald Trump on Sunday has yet to produce any concrete results.
