Captain Sandeep Fulfills Promise by Bringing Home the Trophy

Captain Sandeep Lamichhane of the victorious Nepalese cricket team in the ACC Premier Cup has fulfilled his promise made before heading to Malaysia to bring home the trophy. He dedicated the triumph to the flood-affected people, emphasizing that cricket has brought joy to the Nepalese populace during challenging times. Sandeep also highlighted that the team’s collective effort was more significant than individual awards and informed that Nepal has secured its place in the Asia Cup for the second time.

Kathmandu, September 14 – Returning home late Sunday night with the ACC Premier Cup title, Nepalese cricket captain Sandeep Lamichhane declared that he fulfilled the vow he made before traveling to Malaysia. Speaking with journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport, he expressed gratitude to Nepalese supporters both in Malaysia and across the country.

“When we went to Malaysia, we made a promise—to bring the trophy back to Nepal. Today, that promise has been successfully fulfilled. This achievement is a reflection of our gratitude for the affection shown by all Nepalese supporters,” he said.

Sandeep dedicated the victory to all those affected by the floods. “The country is facing difficult circumstances, but being able to bring some happiness through cricket is a matter of pride for us,” he added.

“We are all very happy. This trophy and achievement are dedicated to the memory of everyone who lost their lives in the flood,” Sandeep concluded.
