Donald Trump Says His Son Will Return Funds to Russian Businessman

Donald Trump has stated that his son, Donald Trump Jr., will return the money received from Russian businessman Umar Kremlev, who paid for wedding expenses. Following reports that Kremlev spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Trump Jr.’s wedding in the Bahamas, Democratic lawmakers in the United States have called for an investigation. Trump has denied knowing Kremlev personally and dismissed the wedding controversy as insignificant.

October 3, Kathmandu – U.S. President Donald Trump clarified that his son, Donald Trump Jr., is set to return funds linked to the Russian oligarch. Trump Jr. is reportedly planning to reimburse the Russian businessman who financed the costs of his wedding ceremony held in the Bahamas.

Umar Kremlev, the wealthy Russian businessman and president of the International Boxing Association, reportedly covered hundreds of thousands of dollars for Trump Jr.’s wedding event. After these details emerged, Democrats in the U.S. Congress have intensified calls for an investigation. ProPublica also reported that Kremlev has close ties to the Russian government.

On Friday, Trump told reporters that he had questioned his son about the matter. According to Trump, his son said, “Dad, I am returning that money.”

An individual familiar with the matter has also confirmed that Donald Trump Jr. will return the money to Kremlev. However, neither Kremlev nor the International Boxing Association has yet commented on the issue.

President Trump did not attend his son’s wedding. He has stated that he does not know Kremlev personally and regards the controversy surrounding the wedding as a minor issue.
