
Smriti Mandhana Sets New Record for Most Runs in Women’s T20 International Cricket
India’s vice-captain Smriti Mandhana set a new record for the most runs scored in women’s T20 international cricket by scoring 37 runs off 19 balls against Bangladesh. She surpassed New Zealand’s Suzie Bates to reach a total of 4,751 runs in women’s T20 internationals. Making her international debut in 2013, Mandhana has accumulated 10,950 international runs across all three formats.
On October 4, in Kathmandu, Smriti Mandhana made history as the leading run-scorer in women’s T20 international cricket. In the Asian Games semifinal against Bangladesh, she scored 37 runs off 19 balls, overtaking her New Zealand counterpart, Suzie Bates. The 30-year-old, who debuted internationally for India in 2013, is among the most successful batters in women’s cricket. She has amassed 4,751 runs in women’s T20 internationals to date.
Previously, Mandhana had set the record for the highest runs in women’s international cricket during the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup against Hong Kong. With a total of 10,950 international runs across all formats, the left-handed opener has already notched 14 centuries in One Day Internationals and 2 in T20 internationals. She currently holds the top position in the ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings and ranks fifth in T20 international rankings.
