Status Report on Highways and Bridges Affected by Floods

On September 26, floods in the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli rivers caused significant damage to major highways in the districts of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, and Dhading, with dozens of bridges being swept away. According to the Department of Roads, extensive damage occurred to the Galchi-Rasuwagadhi Highway and the Prithvi Highway, with 42 bridges reported as washed away so far.

Rebuilding these physical infrastructures, which are vital to the daily lives of the flood-affected population, is crucial. The lack of such structures has exacerbated difficulties in crossing rivers and commuting in certain areas.
