
Novak Djokovic Clinches China Open Tennis Title
October 7, Kathmandu – Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has won the China Open tennis tournament title. In the final held on Tuesday, the 39-year-old Djokovic defeated Australia’s Alex de Minaur to secure the championship. Djokovic claimed the first set 7-6 (7-3). In the second set, despite de Minaur taking a 1-0 lead, he was forced to retire due to health issues, leading to Djokovic being declared the champion.
This victory marks Djokovic’s seventh China Open title. Earlier, on Monday, he advanced to the final by defeating Russia’s Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals with a straight-sets win, 2-0. The China Open is a significant event on the ATP Masters 500 series. Djokovic previously captured the China Open title in 2015 by defeating Rafael Nadal.
