US Military Psychiatrist Nidal Hasan to Face Execution by Firing Squad

The United States is preparing to carry out its first execution by firing squad since World War II. The Pentagon has announced that Nidal Hasan, a psychiatrist serving in the U.S. military, will be executed by firing squad. This marks the first such execution in the country since the end of World War II.

In 2009, Hasan opened fire at Fort Hood, killing 13 unarmed soldiers and injuring 32 others. He pleaded guilty to the crimes in court. According to the U.S. military, the execution is scheduled to take place on December 3.
