Team Compositions After Nepal Volleyball League Auction

The auction for the Nepal Volleyball League was held in Kathmandu, where six franchise teams signed a total of 42 players. Through the auction, 24 players were signed from Category ‘A’ and 18 from Category ‘B’ to various teams. Each team is also allowed to add three foreign players and one player through a talent hunt provision.
On 10th Shrawn, Kathmandu – The auction for the Nepal Volleyball League (NVL) took place on Sunday in Kathmandu. This is for the first-ever men’s franchise volleyball league organized by Kedia Group. A total of 42 players were signed by six franchise teams through the auction. Out of 127 players who participated, 24 were signed from Category ‘A’ and 18 from Category ‘B’. Moving forward, each team will recruit three foreign players and one player via a talent hunt.
Fourteen players were signed at the maximum price, and only two players attracted maximum bids from all teams: Chiranjeevi Khadka and Sanoj Chaudhary. Through a lucky ‘draw,’ Chiranjeevi went to Kathmandu and Sanoj to Karnali.
Annapurna Spikers Kings – With Sunil Bohara as their marquee player, Annapurna Spikers Kings signed two players at maximum price through the lucky draw. Rajendra Dhami and Surendra KC were signed for NPR 120,000 each. They also signed Ravi KC from Gandaki for NPR 100,000 at the auction, while Trust Officer Bishal Adhikari was acquired at the same price through a special signing. From Category ‘B,’ Annapurna signed Bibash Alemgar and Jit Bahadur Sarkee from Gandaki for NPR 50,000 each. Dev Rana Magar joined from the specialist category for NPR 50,000.
Kathmandu Reds – With Sunil Bohara as the marquee player, Kathmandu Reds were fortunate in the lucky draw, managing to bring in three Category ‘A’ players. Chiranjeevi Khadka, who attracted the highest bid of NPR 120,000, was signed by Kathmandu, along with Santosh Bik and Santosh Rai, also at maximum price. From Category ‘B,’ Pushkar Singh Dhami and Jit Bahadur Dhungel were signed for NPR 70,000 each. Kathmandu further signed Baldev Singh Dhami for NPR 100,000 and Dipesh Kunwar for NPR 50,000 from the specialist category.
Madhesh Warriors – Dhyan Bahadur Bhatt and Santosh Mahtal were signed at the maximum price of NPR 120,000 through the lucky draw. Madhesh also recruited Rajan Darlami and Ram Vijay Yadav for NPR 100,000 each. Ravin Rasaily and Sanju Vikram Shah were signed for NPR 50,000 apiece, while Bipson Shahi Thakuri joined for NPR 70,000. Ravin Nagarkoti is the marquee player for Madhesh.
Sagarmatha Smashers – With national team captain Harihjur Thapa as their marquee player, Sagarmatha Smashers signed Subash Kunwar from Category ‘A’ for NPR 120,000 in the first stage. Despite strong bidding for several players, Sagarmatha did not benefit from the lucky draw. Subsequently, they signed Bhim Gaha, Rupendra Nepali, and Deepkaraj Joshi for the minimum NPR 100,000 from the specialist category. From Category ‘B,’ Sanjok Pariyar, Resham Chhantyal, and Raman Bam joined the team for NPR 50,000 each.
Karnali Shivraj – Karnali purchased all four Category ‘A’ players at maximum price. With marquee player Pahal Gahtaraj, Karnali signed Nirpadhvaj Basnet, Binod Chand, Suraj Chanara, and Sanoj Chaudhary, all through the lucky draw. From Category ‘B,’ they signed Sandip Lahore and Balram Gurung for NPR 50,000 each, while Sunil Thakulla joined from the specialist category at the same price.
Khaptad Falcons – Dhiraj Kaji Basnet serves as the marquee player for Khaptad Falcons, who signed Saroj Bardewa and Prem Prasad Gautam at the maximum price of NPR 120,000. Additionally, Bivas Thapa and specialist Indra Bik were signed for NPR 100,000 each. From Category ‘B,’ Navaraj Thapa Magar and Navaraj Dhami joined for NPR 50,000 each, while Paras Bohara was acquired for NPR 70,000.
