
Captain Kiran Chemjong Expresses Regret Over FIFA Suspension of Nepal
Captain Kiran Chemjong has expressed confidence that Nepal’s FIFA suspension will be lifted soon and stated that the national team is ready to return to represent the country on the field. He lamented that Nepal’s name is absent from the SAFF Championship schedule due to the FIFA ban. Nepal will only be able to participate in competitions once the suspension is lifted by September 1.
July 31, Kathmandu – The captain of the Nepal national football team, Kiran Chemjong, expressed disappointment over Nepal’s exclusion from the upcoming SAFF Championship. The tournament is set to begin on November 4 in Dhaka, Bangladesh, but Nepal, currently under FIFA suspension, could not join Saturday’s SAFF Championship draw.
Through Instagram, Captain Chemjong conveyed his deep sorrow about Nepal’s absence in the fixtures, saying, “As a proud Nepali football player, it was truly disheartening not to see Nepal’s name in the SAFF Championship schedule. We have always represented our country with pride, passion, and hope, fighting hard on the field.”
He also expressed hope that the suspension will be lifted soon, allowing Nepal to return to the national stage. “We are hopeful that this ban will be removed quickly and Nepal will be back on the field. We will uphold our nation’s name with honor and make our people proud,” he added. National team winger Manish Dangi also emphasized the urgent need to lift the ban on Nepali football.
