PUBG World Cup Kicks Off Today with Nepal’s Hora Esports Team Participating

The PUBG Mobile World Cup, part of the ongoing Esports World Cup in Paris, France, begins today. The tournament features 32 of the best teams globally, with Nepal’s Hora Esports competing in Group B. The competition offers a total prize pool of $3.05 million, with the champion set to receive $400,000.

The PUBG World Cup will run from August 6 to 16. Representing Nepal, Hora Esports will participate with players Suraj Lama (No Fear), Akash Sotang Rai (Sky Hora), Shital Rai (Sleepy), Eugen Lama (Mafia), Pravesh Gurung (Haitdami), and Suprim Adhikari (Jiggle). The team’s owner, Sanjan Gautam (CR Seven Hora), has also traveled to Paris with the squad.

Pravesh Gurung expressed the ambition not only to represent Hora Esports but the entire nation of Nepal at the event with an outstanding performance. Hora secured their spot for the Esports World Cup following a 12th place finish in the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) held in Jestha (May–June) earlier this year. This time, the 32 participating teams are divided into two groups of 16 each. Hora Esports is placed in Group B and will begin playing from Friday, August 7.

During the group stage, each team will play 12 matches. The top five teams from each group will advance directly to the Grand Final, while teams ranked sixth to thirteenth will compete in the Survival Stage. The final rounds of the competition will take place from August 14 to 16. The total prize pool for the PUBG Mobile World Cup is $3.05 million, with the winners receiving $400,000.
