
Dhananjaya Lakshan Set to Play Again for Pokhara Avengers in Nepal Premier League
Sri Lankan all-rounder Dhananjaya Lakshan is set to play for Pokhara Avengers in the upcoming third edition of the Nepal Premier League. Amit Lohani, General Manager of Pokhara Avengers, expressed enthusiasm about welcoming him back to the team. Dhananjaya Lakshan will once again represent Pokhara Avengers in the third season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL). The franchise announced on Friday that it had re-signed Lakshan, who had delivered impressive performances with both bat and ball in the previous edition. The 27-year-old left-handed batsman and right-arm medium-fast bowler has played three One Day Internationals for Sri Lanka. He has also featured in 70 T20 matches, claiming 48 wickets. Lakshan regularly participates in domestic and various franchise tournaments.
Amit Lohani, General Manager of Pokhara Avengers, stated that the team is excited to welcome Lakshan back. He said, “We are thrilled to have Dhananjaya Lakshan rejoin the Pokhara Avengers family. We believe this season, Season 3, will be even more balanced and competitive.” For the third edition of the NPL, Pokhara had previously retained marquee player Kushal Bhurtel, along with Sagar Dhakal, Arjun Kumal, Bipin Khatri, Akash Chand, Kiran Thagunna, and Dinesh Kharel. Through the auction, they added Vivek Rana Magar, Sudip Aryal, Sunny BK, Bipin Acharya, and Pratik Pokharel to the squad. Additionally, the team has contracted Bangladesh’s experienced all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan as an overseas player, while former Sri Lankan international Ajanta Mendis serves as the head coach.
