Medal Winner Chandra Bahadur and Three Other Boxers Honored

The Nepal Boxing Federation honored four athletes with cash prizes for winning medals and delivering outstanding performances at international competitions. Chandra Bahadur Thapa and Arpil Rana were recognized for winning medals, while Lal Prasad Upreti and Anjani Teli received awards for their exceptional performances. Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta presented the athletes with cash rewards ranging from NPR 50,000 to NPR 10,000 along with certificates of appreciation. Kathmandu, 22nd Shrawan.

The Nepal Boxing Federation awarded four boxers—two medalists and two for notable performances—with cash prizes. Medalists Chandra Bahadur Thapa and Arpil Rana, along with top performers Lal Prasad Upreti and Anjani Teli, received honors. In 2025, Chandra secured a bronze medal in the under-54 kg category at the AIBA World Men’s Boxing Championship held in Dubai. At the same tournament, Lal Prasad reached the quarterfinals in the under-51 kg category.

In 2025, Arpil won a bronze medal in the under-50 kg category at the Asian U-22 Boxing Championship in Thailand. Anjani advanced to the quarterfinals in the under-52 kg category at the 2023 AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championship held in India. Chandra received NPR 50,000, Arpil NPR 20,000, and Lal Prasad and Anjani each were awarded NPR 10,000 along with certificates of appreciation. The awards were presented by Member-Secretary Ramcharitra Mehta. Anjani was not present at the event.
