
Prisoner Who Escaped During GENJI Movement Arrested in Dharan, Sent Back to Jhumka Prison
Police arrested 35-year-old Bhupal Rai, who had escaped from Jhumka Prison in Sunsari, on Saturday in Dharan. Rai, a resident of Sagurigadhi-9 in Dhankuta, was serving a sentence in a drug-related case. Having fled during the GENJI movement in the month of Bhadra, he was sent back to Jhumka Prison on Sunday to complete his remaining sentence.
24th Shrawan, Sunsari – A prisoner who escaped from jail during the GENJI movement has been apprehended in Dharan. The detainee, 35-year-old Bhupal Rai from Sagurigadhi-9, Dhankuta, was arrested on Saturday, according to police. He was returned to Jhumka Prison on Sunday to serve the remainder of his sentence. Rai had escaped from Jhumka Prison during the GENJI protests held on the 23rd and 24th of Bhadra. He was convicted in a narcotics-related case.
