The upcoming Europe-level Nepali T10 cricket tournament to be held in Portugal will award the winner a grand prize of 5,555 euros. The runner-up will receive 2,555 euros, marking the highest prize money ever offered for a Nepali cricket event in Europe. The tournament is scheduled to take place from September 14 to 16.

According to the organizers, the winner’s 5,555 euros equate to approximately NPR 965,000, while the runner-up’s 2,555 euros correspond to nearly NPR 445,000. The tournament’s brand ambassador is Vinod Bhandari, a player on the Nepali national cricket team. Bhandari has arrived in Lisbon and is actively involved in promoting and coordinating the event.

The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Portugal aims to attract Nepali cricket players residing in Europe and foster a competitive environment through this tournament. Additionally, the event seeks to contribute to the development and promotion of Nepali cricket. Beyond competition, the organizers believe the tournament will help unite young Nepalis in Europe, enhancing camaraderie and friendship through sport.

Preparations for the tournament are progressing rapidly, with plans to conduct matches according to international standards. Vivek Shrestha, coordinator of NRNA Portugal, emphasized the need for full support from the Nepali community to ensure the event’s success. The organizers express confidence that this tournament will be a significant milestone in advancing Nepali cricket across Europe.
