England Defender Jed Spence Joins Italy’s Inter Milan

England defender Jed Spence has left Tottenham Hotspur to join the prestigious Italian club Inter Milan. Spence signed a five-year contract with Inter Milan, with the club reportedly spending around €30 million to secure his transfer. Last season, Spence played 44 matches for Tottenham and played a key role in helping the club win the Europa League title.

The 26-year-old Spence bid farewell to Tottenham supporters on social media before finalizing his deal with Inter. He described his time at Tottenham as a special chapter in his career and expressed excitement about starting a new chapter. This move marks Spence’s second stint in Italian football; he was previously on loan at Genoa for six months in 2024.

During last month’s World Cup, Spence featured in all eight of England’s matches, as England finished in third place. Over his time at Tottenham, he played 85 games across all competitions. He had transferred to Tottenham from Middlesbrough in 2022 for £12.5 million. Spence is the second English player to join Inter this season, following John Stones who moved from Manchester City after his contract expired.
