Dhirgh Rawal Appointed Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank

The government has appointed Dhirgh Rawal as the Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday. Rawal, who was serving as the Executive Director of the Bank Supervision Department, has been assigned the responsibility of Deputy Governor for the next five years. Although there are provisions for two Deputy Governors at Nepal Rastra Bank, one of the positions had remained vacant until now.

Kathmandu, 3 Bhadra – Dhirgh Rawal has been appointed as the Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. The government made the official appointment during the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Rawal, previously the Executive Director of the Bank Supervision Department, will serve a five-year term in this position.

According to the Nepal Rastra Bank Act, 2058, there should be two Deputy Governors at the central bank. Since Falgun 2082, both Deputy Governor positions had been vacant. One Deputy Governor was appointed on 24 Chaitra 2082, but the other position remained unfilled until now.
